I Didn't Say It........

CNN anchor Don Lemon, on coming out, and being Black and Gay:
“It’s quite different for an African-American male. It’s about the worst thing you can be in black culture. You’re taught you have to be a man; you have to be masculine. In the black community they think you can pray the gay away. [And you're] afraid that black women will say the same things they do about how black men should be dating black women. I guess this makes me a double minority now. [But] I think it would be great if everybody could be out. But it’s such a personal choice. People have to do it at their own speed. I respect that. I do have to say that the more people who come out, the better it is for everyone, certainly for the Tyler Clementis of the world.”

Welcome out, Don, at least publicly out.
And you aren't a double minority. You are just a member of a new kind of family, of friends and lovers and partners and spouses, who seek to show the world that their is nothing to fear about being gay.
Or black and gay.

Mike Huckabee, on asking folks to pray for him to run:
"When people asked me what it would take for me to run, I would tell them the same thing---pray for me to have clarity in the decision. I don’t expect everyone to understand this, but I’m a believer and a follower of Jesus Christ. That relationship is far more important to me than any political office. For me, the discussion and decision is ultimately not a political one, a financial one, it's not even a practical one - it’s a spiritual one....Only when I was alone, in quiet and reflective moments did I have not only clarity, but an inexplicable inner peace—a peace that exceeds human understanding. All the factors say 'go,' but my heart says 'no.'"

Well, looks like my prayers were answered.
If you think your relationship with Jesus Christs supersedes that of your relationship with mankind, and I'm assuming that means your wife and children, then maybe you shouldn't run. And maybe tehn you should get your ass off TV and go back into he woods and think some more.
I'm sure you could use more clarity.

Newt Gingrich, on his hypocritical stance on marriage:
"Every American has the right to ask these questions. I have made mistakes in my life. I have had to go to God for forgiveness and to seek reconciliation. And I ask them to look at who I am today."

Oh, Newt, we are looking at you today.
A serial adulterer who converted to Catholicism so you could have your first two marriages annulled and then run for president with a not-so-clear conscience.
Maybe the church and god forgives and forgets your first two marriages and your first two extra-marital affair, but last I checked the church and god don't get a vote for president.
That's up to us, and a serial cheater and lying hypocrite has no place in the White House.

Harold Camping, End Times "prophet" and leader of the May 21st It's The End Of The World As We Know It movement:
"God has given sooo much information in the Bible about this, and so many proofs, and so many signs, that we know it is absolutely going to happen without any question at all. There’s nothing in the Bible that God has ever prophesied--there’s many things that he prophesied would happen and they always have happened--but there’s nothing in the Bible that holds a candle to the amount of information to this tremendous truth of the end of the world. I would be absolutely in rebellion against God if I thought anything other than it is absolutely going to happen without any question."

Um, are you there God, it's me, Margaret, er, Bob?
Yeah, see, I'm having some people over for a little get together on the 21st, and I was kinda hoping that the world wouldn't end on me while I was making margaritas for the gang. So, um, yeah, God, if we could hold off on this whole Rapture thing until next weekend?
No, wait, that's no good for me either. I've got tickets to see Patti LuPone in concert, and well, God, for my people, that is as close to Rapture as possible.
So, maybe we can rethink this whole End Of Days thing, m'kay?
Get back to me on that.

Mo'Nique, on why gay men love fat black women:
"Yes, there’s a mutual affection there. There’s something very special about the connection between a gay man and a fat black woman. I think that because we’ve both been the underdog--or we’ve both been in this place of trying to be accepted and loved--that we gravitated to each other."

Grrrl, you are preachin' to the choir.
The Gays love the underdogs because we are the underdogs. And we love to see someone, anyone, who has been put upon or put down, make it.
It gives us hope.
Plus, you're fabulous.

Roger McDowell, Atlanta Braves pitching coach, apologizing again for the anti-gay slurs and gestures he made to fans at a recent baseball game:
“These past two weeks have been very humbling, emotional, and a reflective time for me and my family to better understand about what has happened. I have and will continue to learn from this and have committed to being a productive member of the Atlanta Braves organization and to this coaching staff. in addition, I would like to apologize to anyone who was offended by my actions. I am not proud of the way I acted and I know it will not happen again.”

Let's see that it doesn't, Rog.
Maybe you could become one of those men in professional sports that stands up for the LGBT community, rather than taking us down and making us into a joke.
Try being a little more Ben Cohen and a little lesss Kobe Bryant.

Senator Rand Paul, on how health cvare reform is akin to slavery:
"With regard to the idea of whether you have a right to health care, you have realize what that implies. It’s not an abstraction. I’m a physician. That means you have a right to come to my house and conscript me. It means you believe in slavery. It means that you’re going to enslave not only me, but the janitor at my hospital, the person who cleans my office, the assistants who work in my office, the nurses. Basically, once you imply a belief in a right to someone’s services--do you have a right to plumbing? Do you have a right to water? Do you have right to food?--you’re basically saying you believe in slavery. I’m a physician in your community and you say you have a right to health care. You have a right to beat down my door with the police, escort me away and force me to take care of you? That’s ultimately what the right to free health care would be."

Wow.
He puts the fuck in fucktard.
The nut in wingnut.
The ass in asshat.
Way to scare your Teabagging minions by comparing health care to slavery, but then, wouldn't they be for health care then? I mean, they seem a little KKK to me, so slavery should be right up their alley.
At least if you're talking about enslaving the 'right' people, not the white people?

Jackie Cooper, on his dallinace with Joan Crawford, in his autobiography, Please Don't Shoot My Dog:
"I was seventeen, and I began to go over to Joan Crawford's house to play badminton... I was brash, fresh from some romantic triumph, I suppose, and I made some remark which i assumed was sophisticated, witty, and very sexually provocative. 'You had better get out of here, young man,' she said. But I didn't go. Instead, I made a move toward her, and she stood up, looked at me appraisingly, and then closed all the drapes. And I made love to Joan Crawford. Or, rather, she made love to me."

And, I believe, during their encounter, she made him scream, "Mommie, dearest" at least a dozen times.
I love stories like this because Crawford always portrayed herself of the ideal of decorum and manners and propriety. But when Jackie Cooper was seventeen and bedding down Joan Crawford, she was thirty-four, and had just divorced her first, or, depending on whom you believe, second husband.

He Won't Run, And A Great Sigh Of Relief Was Heard Throughout The Land

Sorry. I know you all hate this
picture, but it shows the True
Huckster in all his glory.
Once considered a front runner for the GOP nomination for president, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee has announced that he will not run for the office. And the scramble within the rest of the motley crew of GOP nominees begins.

Huckabee said, over the weekend: “All the factors say go, but my heart says no and that’s the decision I have made.” This, as I said on some other blogs, is Huckabee-speak for "I know I don't have a snowball's chance in hell of winning so I won't even try."

And yet, even while stating he wouldn't run, the Huckster talked about how he felt he could have won the nomination, and the office. He said his wife and children encouraged him to run. He said recent polls show that he could'a been a contendah. He said he could win voters outside the south. He said he could raise the money needed to run.

He could. He could. He could. He won't.

"I had come to believe I would be in the race," Huckabee said. "The external signs … point strongly toward running," he said. "But only when I was alone, in quiet and reflective moments, did I have not only clarity but an inexplicable inner peace."

I have inner peace, too, Mike, knowing I won't have to listen to your bigoted, anti-gay, holier-than-thou rhetoric for the next 18 months.

I Didn't Say It.......

Jason Patrick [seriously?] on Lady Gaga:
"This Lady GaGa is absolutely preposterous. This is, what? You take a s*** in a Cuisinart and put [on] some pasties and get Auto-Tuned and look who I am. Well nothing, you've been marketed, that's all. If I was a magician maybe I'd get angry about it, but it's just like, what? Again, just turn the page."

Um, thanks Jason? I guess.
But why the anger?
What did Gaga ever do to you? Beat you to the Appear-In-An-Egg-At-The-Grammys title?
Wear a meat dress first?
Someone needs a nap.

amfAR, on the passing of Elizabeth Taylor:
"The board of trustees and staff of amfAR mourn the passing of our beloved Founding International Chairman, Dame Elizabeth Taylor. Dame Elizabeth was without doubt one of the most inspirational figures in the fight against AIDS. She was among the first to speak out on behalf of people living with HIV when others reacted with fear and often outright hostility. For 25 years, Dame Elizabeth has been a passionate advocate of AIDS research, treatment and care. She has testified eloquently on Capitol Hill, while raising millions of dollars for amfAR. Dame Elizabeth’s compassion, radiance, and generosity of spirit will be greatly missed by us all. She leaves a monumental legacy that has improved and extended millions of lives and will enrich countless more for generations to come."

Elizabeth Taylor was an AIDS activist almost before we knew what either of those things meant. And would she have done so if her good friend, Rock Hudson, hadn't died of complications of AIDS? I don't know. And I don't care.
See, that's how any of us become advocates for anything: we're touched by it, and moved by it, and want to change it.
And Elizabeth Taylor did that before anyone else.

Karen England, wingnut from California Research Institute, on transgendered people:"If you're born a male or a female, then you should remain a male or a female on your birth certificate. It's actually quite deceptive -- and it shouldn't be legal to be able to have a birth certificate that has you identified as one sex when you're really another sex altogether. I don't know why we need to have special privileges on something this radical and controversial for people who are wanting to go through a sex change, or for people who are saying they want to go through it but want to conceal their identity or want to -- quote, unquote -- 'get married' under Proposition 8. It's just radical, and I can't believe they're even discussing this at the state legislative level."

Wow, is there any LGBT issue this wackjob isn't against?
Transgender. Marriage equality.
Karen, honey, you clinking clanking clacking collection of calygenous junk, times are changing, and when the change is compete, you'll be that sad bag lady standing at the curb wondering where everyone went.
But, that's your choice.

Mike Huckabee, asshat and presidential wannabe, but neverwillbe, on reinstating DADT if elected:
"I would -- because that's really what the military wants. There's been some talk that the military is fine with having same-sex orientation people. But if you really surveyed the combat troops, that is not at all the case....I don't think that these are decisions that politicians should make. These are decisions that soldiers should make," he says emphatically. "And when the soldiers in the foxholes make the decisions, they choose something different -- and we should listen to them."

Gee, Mike, if you had half a brain--and one less chin--you might realize that members of the military do not make up the rules of the military.
That's for the leaders of the military, and the President, who've already spoken on this issue.
If you want to be taken seriously as a candidate for president--and not simply as some banjo strumming nutjob--why don't you talk about the issues that concern the American people, like, oh, maybe the economy, jobs, Iraq, Afghanistan, instead of pandering to your baseless nitwits.

Wendy Wright, of the Concerned Women For America, on the Respect For Marriage Act:
"The congressmen who introduced this bill are claiming rights that don't exist. There is no right to same-sex 'marriage,' and they seek to confuse people by using language like that. Every time that marriage has come up for a vote in a state, that state has protected marriages between one man and one woman. So when you look at how they operate, they are in fact the bullies. They're the ones who have massive amounts of money. When you look at the budgets of these groups, it's rather shocking the multimillions of dollars they have -- they bring in every year -- and with that, they're able to hire full-time lobbyists who then intimidate not only politicians but corporations."
Oh, Wendy.
There is same-sex marriage, honey. Iowa? Massachusetts?
Ever heard of those places?
And, soon enough, marriage equality will be everywhere so the Respect For Marriage ACT is a positive step towards change.
But, um, I'm guessing you'll be left on a curb somewhere with fellow wingnut hater Karen England.

Victoria Jackson, former SNL cast member and Tea Party wackjob, on al-Qaida and Glee:
"This new al-Qaida magazine for women has beauty tips and suicide-bomber tips! Gimme a break! That is as ridiculous as two men kissing on the mouth! And I don't care what is politically correct. Everyone knows that two men on a wedding cake is a comedy skit, not an 'alternate lifestyle'! There I said it! Ridiculous! Did you see Glee this week? Sickening! And, besides shoving the gay thing down our throats, they made a mockery of Christians – again! I wonder what their agenda is? Hey, producers of Glee – what's your agenda? One-way tolerance?"
Victoria, Victoria, Victoria. Al, those years of standing on your head on SNL have compressed your brain to the point that rational cogent thought doesn't exist.
And, if the idea of two men kissing is so repellent to you--and, really, honey, it's hot--then WTF are you doing watching the gayest show on TV.

Barney Frank, on the idea that gay rights is now a positive wedge issue for the Democrats:
"What do I say to the idea that this [DOMA] is a wedge issue? I say 'Hallelujah.' The fact that we've now evolved to the point where the Republicans are complaining about the fact that we introduced this bill because it causes them political problems is a great sign of progress. It used to be the other way around."

But let's not make everything about gay rights.
Many in the LGBT community are also concerned about the economy and jobs, wars, the environemtn.
Let's try to focus on those issues, too.
They matter to the LGBT community as well.

Bruce Vilanch, on James Franco's widely-panned Oscar performance and allegedly being high:
"No, he wasn't high. I was with him, and he wasn't high. And I asked him, 'Are you high, and can I have some?' And he said no to both....He has so many balls in the air, he didn't get to town till Thursday before the show on Sunday. And so we e-mailed a lot....He had a bunch of people who were writing for him, and if it had been him alone, it would have been different. But it was him and Anne Hathaway, and they both had to be serviced. So there was a lot of communication beforehand. But he didn't get there...I don't think he realized how big a deal it is to do it until he was actually confronted with it. I think he thought he would kind of ... I don't know what he thought. I thought maybe it was a performance-art prank, and then I realized he sincerely wanted to do it. But it's outside of those guys' comfort zones. The only people who know how to host those shows are people who get up onstage every night and say, 'Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. A funny thing happened ... ' Or people like Bette [Midler] who get up and sing all night and tell stories."

He looked high, he acted high. But maybe that's all it was, being out of his element and seriously not prepared. A few emails doesn't set you up for the Oscar host win, James.

Josh Flagg, of Bravo's Million Dollar Listing, has ome out of the closet:
"You know my sexuality does not define me, it is not who I am, but rather it is part of me, and I did not ever want people to think of me as "the gay real estate guy," I did not want that to be the only demographic that was watching me on TV or the only demographic to associate with me. I am very glad I did things the way I did because I feel I eased people into it and I made people comfortable with ME, and then kind of just dropped the fact that I like guys instead of girls. Many people knew, many had no idea."

Welcome out, Josh.
And I like the philosophy of not being the gay realtor but the realtor who is gay.
It's a subtle difference, but it is a difference.
Like me, I'm not the gay snarky bitch, I'm the snarky bitch who's gay.
Subtle.

Randy Forbes, Teabagger asshat, on his bill to force the placement of "In God We Trust" on all public buildings:
"This sends a clear message to all these government departments and agencies that it’s all right to put up the motto on our buildings and in our classrooms. And I think it will stop the tide of the chilling effect over the past several years. We’re not forcing anybody to do anything. But at the same time, we want to stand there to protect people who want to say God in a public building. And we don’t want some government agency telling them that they can’t put the national motto in their buildings or classrooms."
You might not be forcing people to do anything, but by putting up your little signs, you are ignoring people who are not members of your Christian faith, or even people who are non-believers.
And you can have your national motto, and make it the cornerstone of your life, but you are stepping on the toes of people who believe differently, and that's not very American.
Or Christian.

Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard on her opposition to marriage equality:
"If I was in a different walk of life, if I'd continued in the law and was partner of a law firm now, I would express the same view, that I think for our culture, for our heritage, the Marriage Act and marriage being between a man and a woman has a special status. Now, I know people might look at me and think that's something that they wouldn't necessarily expect me to say, but that is what I believe."

But your beliefs are not necessarily the beliefs of everyone.
Nor are they especially equality oriented.
Believe what you choose, but the law is the law.

I Ain't One To Gossip, But.....

Well, at least we now know they're really good actors.
All sorts of stories breaking that young and hip first-time Oscar hosts, Anne Hathaway and James Franco grew to hate one another as the show drew closer.
A source--and by source, I mean the guy that taped Hathaway's lips into a permanent smile and kept Franco in Fritos--says Anne was ready to cut a bitch, a certain stoner bitch, because of his lackadaisical performance on the show.
Franco, who, for the most part, seemed keen on just grinning like a fool while onstage, even skipped his own after party, at LA's The Writer's Room, and flew back to New York because he was so pissed off at perky, The Sun'll Come Out Tomorrow, Annie.
Now, Franco's rep says the whole thing is a lie, and, miraculously enough, Anne's rep said the same thing.
But if you watched the show, you saw Anne doing all the smiling and laughing and joking, the singing and the dancing, while Franco seemed to be in search of his next bong hit.
Had the academy bothered to ask me, I'd have told them to keep away from the Cheerleader and The Stoner as hosts.
Just sayin'.

Boy, Mike Huckabee has had a busy week.
First, he implied that the president is from Kenya, and that he grew up in Kenya, which we all know--unless you're a Teabagger with one tooth and one brain cell--isn't true.
Then Huckleberry Hound intimated that the president is a Muslim, again pandering to his base of toothless and brain-dead Teabaggers.
But now he's gone too far.
Too.Far. I tell ya!
This week presidential wannabe--and that will never happen--Mike Huckabee criticized Oscar-wining actress Natalie Portman for glorifying and glamorizing out-of-wedlock pregnancy.
Y'all remember how Natalie said during her Oscar acceptance speech: "Do it girls, fuck a guy and get knocked up but don't get married. It's fun!"
Oh, wait, that didn't happen, But it didn't stop Huckleberry Hounddog Face from going on 'The Michael Medved Show' the after Portman won the Oscar, and criticize her because she's expecting her first child with fiancé Benjamin Millepied.
Huckabee said: "People see a Natalie Portman who boasts, 'We're not married but we're having these children and they're doing just fine.' I think it gives a distorted image. It's unfortunate that we glorify and glamorize the idea of out-of-wedlock children."
Hmm, I didn't see glory and glamorization, I saw a woman in love, and glowing.
But then Huckleberry goes on to call Portman's pregnancy "troubling," saying that many single parents do not have the resources that the 29-year-old actress possessed and would not be able to afford help to look after the baby.
Um, okay Mike, you dingbat, um, where was all your holier-than-thou crap after Bristol Palin got knocked up and was trotted out on the campaign trail by her media whoring mother?
Oh, I forgot, it's perfectly fine when the GOP gets pregnant without benefit of marriage, or cheats on their wives, or gets drunk and rives, but not anybody else.
Go back to your hovel in the mountains Huckleberry. You are too out of touch to be president of anything more than the Backwoods Illiterates Club.
Just sayin'.

Lindsay Lohan has stopped getting high and stealing things that don't belong to her long enough to give an interview!
Can I get a Hallelujah up in here!
And apparently, when compared to Charlie Sheen, she comes off as lucid and normal.
Well, that's not such a stretch. The old lady who lives in the sewer drain on Broad Street in downtown Smallvile, and speaks in tongues, sounds more lucid than Charlie.
Anyway, speaking to Extra, Lindsay seemed clear-headed when talking about her career as an international drug addict and jewel thief, I mean, being a wacktress, i mean being an actress.
Lohan: "I feel great. As long as I'm focusing on the one thing that I know I need to put forth in my life, which is you know, my recovery and stuff. Then I'm doing good and that's most important for me."
The one thing she knows? How to get an array of doctors to provide her with prescription drugs so she can stop shopping in South Central? Or that one thing about how to distract a salesgirl while she slips some jewels into her bag?
Oh. Acting. I'd forgotten she was an actress.
Lohan says she also knows that it will take time to regain the trust of the film industry after her latest run-in with cops and lawyers and judges, oh my. And, it may take even longer to be trusted again, as she is in very serious danger of going to jail on felony charges from stealing that necklace.
She has until March 10 to decide if she wants to take a plea deal--which will include jail time--or go to trial--and risk being sent to jail.
Lohan: "There's gonna be a lot of steps [sidenote: I'm thinking at least Twelve Steps] that I have to go through to kind of prove myself again and get the trust from the people that I respect to work with. But I'm to do what I have to do to get there, because that's my passion."
I hope so Lindsay, because for the past few years your passion has been drugs, drink driving, arrest, rehab, arrest, jail, rehab, drunk driving, arrest, rehab, jewel theft, arrest.
Just sayin'.

I fear for Christina.
I'm hoping that she isn't on the rod to a Britney Meltdown,
I mean, there was the Star Mangled Banner mishap at the Superbowl; then she had the fall at the Grammys after opening the show. And now this.
Christina Aguilera and her boyfriend Matt Rutler were arrested this week in West Hollywood. Christina was booked on a misdemeanor charge for public intoxication, while Rutler also faces a misdemeanor charge for driving under the influence.
Reports have been swirling that Christina has been the hard party girl of the moment, and now it seems to be catching up to her.
i mean, I hope she doesn't attack a car with an umbrella and then shave off all her hair. I'm hoping she doesn't open the VMAs this year, singing from a comatose state. I'm hoping she gets better and gets back to singing.
Sidenote: Remember when  all those girl singers appeared on the scene at the same time? Britney, Christina, and Pink? Didn't you always think it'd be Pink who would be the one in trouble? Who knew Pink would turn out to be the Good Girl?
Just syainm'.

I'm guessing that, in the Cruise household, there is a list on the refrigerator of amounts to sue for when the tabloids write something unkind.
I'm thinking the list goes something like this:
Rumors of Tommy being a ginormous flaming queen....sue for $100 million.
Rumors of Katie being a ginormous drug addict....sue for $50 million.
Apparently, being a drug addict is more acceptable than being a giant 'mo.
Katie Holmes has filed a libel lawsuit seeking $50 million in damages from Star magazine after the weekly published a cover story that insinuated she is a drug addict.
Katie Holmes said, after getting permission from Tommy Grrrl to speak: "Of all the fabricated stories that continue to be published about me, this instance is beyond the pale. The publisher knew this outrageous story was false and printed it anyway to sell magazines."
The cover photo shows Holmes looking tired and upset--probably because she had to feed, bathe and clothe Suri and Tommy on the same day--with the tagline: "Addiction Nightmare: Katie Drug Shocker! The real reason she can't leave Tom."
Inside the issue, however, the article doesn't say that Katie is a drug addict, but focuses on her usage of something called an "e-meter" during Scientology sessions; e-meters, flown in directly from Xenu HQ, ALLEGEDLY reflect past emotional experiences.
Holmes says she was forced to file this lawsuit "to vindicate her reputation after American Media refused to retract its vicious lies about her....[the] claims about Katie are untrue, unethical and unlawful. Not only do they cruelly defame Katie, they play a cheap trick on the public, making ridiculously false claims on the cover unsupported by anything inside. Someone should bring a class action to get all buyers their money back."
Star is standing by their story: "We have not been served with any papers yet, however Star fully stands behind the editorial integrity of what we have published concerning Ms. Holmes' controversial use of the Scientology e-meter. The physical effect of the e-meter on its users is a matter of significant public concern, and we plan to vigorously defend the suit filed by Ms. Holmes."
Too bad no one is accusing the pair of being gay drug addicts.
I imagine that would be a $150 million lawsuit.
Just sayin'.

Joan Collins, who made her first appearance onstage for William Shakespeare, was rushed to the hospital from an Oscar after-party last weekend after she passed out.
Was it the fact that she's four-hundred-years old?
No, Collins revealed that her very tight dress was the reason she was hospitalized.
The 'Dynasty' actress, and former courtesan to Henry VIII, was ALLEGEDLY wearing a purple, figure-hugging dress by designer Georges Hobeika at Graydon Carter's Oscar viewing party and dinner when she started to feel faint.
Collins went and rested on a sofa at the hotel's bar, while her fifth husband Percy Gibson--who was born when Joan was married to her second husband, which means her eighth husband is being born now--called for an ambulance. Collins was discreetly helped out of the back of the hotel.
Joan Collins: "The truth was, I made the wrong decision to wear a very tight dress, and had something rather like a Victorian swoon." I believe, and correct me if I'm wrong, Joan Collins invented the Victorian swoon during the Victorian Era.
Now, that picture there, of the centuries old Collins, is one of her in the dress. Doesn't look too snug to me. But maybe it was the corset she borrowed from Marie Antoinette.
Just sayin'.

It looks like the drug addict don't fall far from the tree.
Whitney Houston's daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, has fired back at a National Enquirer cover story ALLEGING 17-year-old Brown was snorting cocaine at a party. She turns 18 on Friday.
The Enquirer photo spread shows Bobbi Kristina snorting a white substance, and we know it ain't crack, because crack is wack, like Mama says.
Bobbi Kristina made her case via Twitter, saying, "a former very dear person to me did this. Set me up to make it look exactly what it looks like. God will smite them yes..But it's really not what it looks like.. People will do anything for money which is extremely sad, and I'm very hurt by this."
Um, okay, so it isn't what it looks like, but, um, what is it, because we all know what it looks like.
See, according to the Enquirer--and remember, they broke the John Edwards adultery story so they must be a reputable source--quotes Bobbi Kristina's ex-boyfriend as saying, "Krissi is addicted to cocaine. I've tried to stop her, but all she said was, 'I'm just like my mother!'"
Bobbi Kristina, again on Twitter: "Thing's people do these days to hurt others is a shame. All I can do now, is keep my head up high, keep looking towards the lord. All the lord is telling me is be still. That's all, and that's exactly what I'm going to do."
Hmm, didn't her Mama say the same sorts of things when people said she had a drug problem, which she denied and denied and denied, until she admitted it was true?
Bobbi Kristina: "I love my family so much. My mom just comforted me to the max, and I'm so thankful for her. Thank you so much lord for blessing me with an Phenomenal family and incredibly phenomenal mother. Thank you for giving me the strength to move forward and put things in the past."
Hopefully this isn't true, but, well, it all sounds so vaguely familiar. I'm hoping Bobbi Kristina doesn't do a sit-down with Diane Sawyer.
And, to be fair, the National Enquirer has printed some very interesting Bobbi Kristina stories over the years. In 2008, they reported that a then-15 Bobbi Kristina "tried to stab her mom during an argument--and then attempted to kill herself by slashing her wrists," and in 2010, the Enquirer said Bobbi Kristina  was an "out of control....wild child....going party party-crazy."
And, continuing to be fair, in 2007, Whitney herself prohibited her then 14-year-old daughter from MySpace after photos of Bobbi Kristina ALLEGEDLY drinking alcohol and smoking weed surfaced.
Where there's smoke, there's probably a crack pipe.
Just sayin'.

Some people--not me--think Valentine's Day is the most romantic day of the year.
I'm guessing that this past Valentine's Day wasn't that good for Paula Abdul.
The former host of American idol, and the recently cancelled Live to Dance, placed a call to 911 on Valentine's Day while she was riding in a car with her boyfriend.
Crying, she told the operator of her emergency: "I wanna go, and he won't let me!"
And then she was heard, on tapes that TMZ acquired, asking her boyfriend, "Are you gonna drop me off 'cause I have emergency on the phone?"
Soon, thank god, the situation was diffused, and Paula happily sang, using Auto-Tone, "He's dropping me off."
Crisis averted!
Later on, when police spoke to Abdul, she claimed that the earlier incident was a minor argument that never became physical, and she declined to file a police report.
Luckily for Paula, the 911 operators in LA have nothing better to do than, listen to wannabe celebrities and hasbeens comp[lain about not getting their way.
Just sayin'.

I Didn't Say It.......

Sarah Palin, on Obama's decision not to defend DOMA:
"I have always believed that marriage is between one man and one woman. Like the majority of Americans, I support the Defense of Marriage Act and find it appalling that the Obama administration decided not to defend this federal law which was enacted with broad bipartisan support and signed into law by a Democrat president. It’s appalling, but not surprising that the President has flip-flopped on yet another issue from his stated position as a candidate to a seemingly opposite position once he was elected."

Oh, you stupid, confused, narcissistic, pandering gasbag.
Obama hasn't flip-flopped, you fool.
He campaigned for, and won the presidency on the desire to repeal DOMA.
So, you keep lying, and pandering, and playing to your base, while saying the most incredibly inaccurate and stupid things ever.
Just when I think you can't be more of a total wingnut, you prove there's a whole sub-basement to your idiocy.

AfterElton's Michael Jensen, on Josh Brolin and Javier Bardem's kiss and dance at the Oscars not being shown--instead we were treated to a cut-away to Penelope Cruz:
"Viewers saw the two men walk out onto stage where they engaged in an apparently impromptu dance, though viewers only saw a flash of that before the camera jumped to an extended shot of Penelope Cruz...So why the cut away? On one hand, it seems unlikely that ABC would find a kiss between Bardem and Brolin to be something needing to be censored. After all, back in 2006, the Oscar telecast included a Brokeback Mountain spoof featuring Jon Stewart and George Clooney in bed. On the other hand, the cutaway to Cruz seemed awkward and clearly lasted until the two men had stopped dancing."

I think it has to do with the Oscars not being the Tonys, where men kiss, and women kiss, and people thank they same-sex lovers and partners regularly in acceptance speeches.
Oscar needs to grow up.

Bruce Cohen, an openly gay man, attempts to explain ABC's cut-away from the kiss and dance between Brolin and Bardem:
"It [the dance and the kiss] was unscripted, and the plan in the truck was always to cut to Penelope in the audience applauding Josh's and Javier’s introduction, so that is what happened, just as they were starting to dance. Josh and Javier’s moment (I saw them start to dance, but, to be honest, I have no idea if they kissed — that’s the first I’ve heard of that) would have made a great TV moment, but since no one knew it was coming, we cut to the gorgeous Mz. Cruz as planned. By the time we cut back from her close-up, James and Javier were walking to the podium."

Hmmm, sounds a little shady to me, because, in the nanosecond that the dance appeared, when they made the decision to cut to Cruz, they could have easily made the decision to cut back to Brolin and Bardem.

Randy Thomasson, Save California's leading bigot, homophobe, hater and liar, on AG Eric Holder not defending DOMA in court:
"It's downright frightening to hear U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder suggest that moral disapproval of homosexual marriages is somehow unconstitutional. What's next? Federal lawsuits against states with man-woman marriage laws -- and federal investigations of individuals who believe that marriage is only for a man and a woman? Barack Obama lied when he said he'd defend marriage for only a man and a woman. And now Obama is following in the footsteps of another liar -- that's Jerry Brown of California. We need to pray for justice to be done. We need to pray for protection from God because America is going down the toilet morally because of its disobedience to God. And we need to ask for God's mercy, something we certainly don't deserve.""

Um, Randy, God has nothing to do with the laws of this country.
The Bible has nothing to do with the laws of this country.
If they did, we'd have a lot more pressing things to worry about.
Like Red Lobster and their heathen practice of serving shrimp.
Like Calvin Klein and his blasphemous use of mixed fabrics.
Yeah, let's start a protest over that.

Alan Keyes, on DOMA:
"Government doesn't endow people with the ability to procreate the species. The Creator takes care of that. Like all unalienable rights, those associated with the natural family exist in consequence of this endowment. A couple that cannot, by nature, procreate has no claim to those rights. Nor can government grant them a semblance of it without impairing the claims of one or both of the parents biologically implicated in the physical conception of the child. The DOMA simply makes more explicit the government's obligation to secure the Creator-endowed unalienable rights of the natural family. This obligation precludes government from fabricating other rights that impair them. In this respect, granting homosexuals the right to marry is like granting plantation owners the right to own slaves."

You're right, asshat.
Government doesn't enable people to create life, but God doesn't run the government, now does she?
Marriage is a legal, civil institution, not a religious one. Please understand, you moron, that when two people, male and female, male and male, female and female, marry in this country, they are not legally married unless the government says so.
The churches have no say in the matter after they perform their rituals.

Mike Huckabee, fucktard and presidential hopeful--that makes me giggle because there is no way Huckabee will ever be president--on same-sex parents:
"I believe that we're in denial about potential problems as we see more and more homosexual couples raising families. Essentially, these are experiments to see how well children will fare in such same-sex households. It will be years before we know whether or not our little guinea pigs turn out to be good at marriage and parenthood."

Mike, you dumbass.
You keep mentioning the "problems" associated with gay couples, or gay people, raising children, and yet you never explain further.
If you are so concerned about children being raised by heterosexual couples only, then why aren't you fighting heterosexual divorce?
Seems to be that if you cared about children and parents, you'd be working to keep heterosexual couples together.
I guess it's just easier to gay bash.

Aaron Schock, the turquoise belt-wearing not-gay Congressman, on DOMA:
“I would say it’s disappointing he is unilaterally making that decision when a bipartisan Congress passed a law into effect. It was supported by Democrats and Republicans and was signed into law by then-President Clinton.”

Let's see....just because some law had bipartisan support doesn't mean it's fair and equitable.
I mean, were that the case, we might still own slaves in this country, because a couple of hundred years ago everyone was for it.
Woman might not have the vote because it used to be the law.
Oh, Aaron, hony, I think that when you finally get a boyfriend, and finally come out, you'll change your mind.
And you'll make a beautiful bride.

Mike Huckabee [AGAIN!], on how Obama grew up in Kenya--and he actually said that...as if it means anything:
"And I have said many times, publicly, that I do think he has a different worldview and I think it is, in part, molded out of a very different experience. Most of us grew up going to Boy Scout meetings and, you know, our communities were filled with Rotary Clubs, not madrassas."
Oh he's trying to kill two birds with one stone.
First, he's feeding Teabagger frenzy about Obama being born in Kenya--even though, after he first said Kenya, he said he misspoke and meant Indonesia.
But the use of "madrassas" is also interesting.
See, in English, the term madrassas, or madrasah, usually refers to the specifically Islamic institutions, that offer two courses of study: a hifz course teaching memorization of the Qur'anand an 'alim course leading the candidate to become an accepted scholar in the community.
See, Mike Huckabee doesn't have the balls to say it out loud, he just wants people to think Obama was born in Kenya and he's a Muslim.
Huckabee was born in America and he's a fucktard.
