As If We Needed MORE Proof That The GOP Isn't Listening To The People

Out there in Minnesota, home to anti-gay Tom Emmer, anti-gay Target Corporation, and anti-gay Michele Bachmann, among others, the GOP wingnuts who are in control of the state house, are trying to amend the state Constitution to ban same-sex gay marriage.

You know, because they've already repealed Health Care reform, and they've fixed the economy and created millions of new jobs......oh.........they didn't? They're just working to write discrimination into law?

Trouble with that is that a majority of Minnesotans are actually opposed to amending the state Constitution. Some 55% of respondents said they oppose adding such an amendment while 39% favor a constitutional ban--a sharp reversal of poll results seven years ago.

But will the GOP listen? Of course not. See, they can't do anything they set out to do, so they'll try to do this, and then gloat about how they saved marriage from the Evil Homosexual Empire.

Still, even though the people have spoken, the Minnesota Senate approved the amendment this week, and the House is expected to goosestep right behind them. Of course, just because a bunch of ignorant, GOP bigots want to do this doesn't actually mean it will happen. The proposed Discrimination Amendment would then be placed on the 2012 ballot, and the people of Minnesota would have the final say.

And, um, GOP? They've spoken. So, perhaps you should listen for a change.

30% Of Republicans Are Brain Dead

The man has produced his birth certificate TWICE, yet 30% of Republicans still think Barack Obama was not born in this country. 

And, on a similar note, 30% of Republicans apparently think Hawaii is not an actual US state.

This new poll, which also shows that 16% of all Americans are as brain dead as that 30% of Republicans, was conducted the week of April 29 to May 2, AFTER Obama released the birth certificate AGAIN and addressed the news media on the topic.

Other groups who are not using their brains, are Conservatives, 34% of whom believe Obama is not an American citizen, and those without a college degree...DUH...21% of whom are clinically moronic.

Seriously, people, the man has shown his birth certificate twice now and yet you still don't buy it? That leads to just one conclusion, well, maybe two. 

You're all a bunch of idiots, or you're a bunch of racists.

Hey GOP? Listen To "We The People"

A new poll HERE shows that American voters oppose the Defense of Marriage Act--America's Prop H8 that forbids the federal government from recognizing legally married same-sex couples. And the poll also shows that American voters oppose efforts by the House Republican leadership to intervene in court cases defending the law.

Good News Monday: Americans Evenly Split Legalizing Same-Sex Marriage

A new Pew poll shows adult Americans are evenly split over whether gays and lesbians should be legally allowed to marry. According to the poll, a slim 46% of Americans say gay marriage should not be legal, but 45% say it should be legal; with a 3% margin of error, that makes the results a statistical tie.

Wow. It sounds nice. I mean, "evenly split" is better than the majority are against it, right?

But, according to the poll there is a clear trend that Americans' views are becoming increasingly favorable toward the issue.

That's right. It's becoming more accepted because a few places are allowing it to be done, and the world isn't coming to an end, and hurricanes haven't destroyed Iowa and tornadoes haven't ruined Massachusetts and locusts haven't swarmed through New Hampshire and Connecticut didn't flood and Washington DC didn't sink into the ocean and Vermont didn't burn to the ground.

It's all good.
It's all changing, for the better.
