Rick Santorum, on Dan Savage's "attacks" on him:

"Whether it’s Rick Santorum or Michele Bachmann, it’s the Left making fun of someone who believes in the values that built America. It believes in traditional marriage. How outrageous. How bigoted. How hateful that you actually believe that, that, you know, raising children and, and, and families with mothers and fathers is something to be encouraged. That you’re, that, that, just because you hold those opinions, you are subject to the worst form of, of, of, of vulgarity on the internet, on television, and everywhere else, and they get away with, not only do they get away with the mainstream media, but they are applauded by the mainstream media. They are made, they are celebrated by, as you mentioned, in New York, by taking on these, these people who believe in these outmoded virtues, and, the bottom line is I stand and I wear it as a badge of honor that someone as vulgar and as, and as disgusting and as hate-filled as Dan Savage sees me as public enemy number one. Dan Savage, on Marcus Bachmann being an ALLEGED homosexual:

If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, walks like a duck, it's a duck.
And, sometimes it's a "huge, messy, married, dishonest, closeted" duck like Marcus Bachmann.
Just because he is ALLEGEDLY ashamed of being gay doesn't make being gay wrong.


Bishop David Allen Richey, saying he fears gay people more than wars and natural disasters:

"I'm not afraid of the many disasters that are happening simultaneously in our world. I'm not afraid of all the wars that are currently raging on almost every continent on the globe. The potential for nuclear accidents globally doesn't frighten me. What terrifies me are good men and women saying and doing nothing when politicians we voted into office are making moral laws that contradict everything a Holy God stands for. [snip] If someone desires to indulge in bestiality, anal sex, homosexuality or any other perverted sexual act, why does it have to be made a law? More important, why have more than 50 percent of Americans bought into the lie that it has to be legalized?"


I love how these Catholic Bishops are always comparing homosexuality to bestiality and other perverted sexual acts, but generally leave raping children out of the mix.
Pot. Kettle. Pedophile.
And marriage will be legalized for all Americans, Bishop, and you'll be stuck on the sidelines whimpering and moaning and living in the past.


Rudy Giuliani, on what the GOP needs to do if they want to regain the White House:

'I think the Republican Party would be well advised to get the heck out of people's bedrooms and let these things get decided by states. We'd be a much more successful political party if we stuck to our economic, conservative roots. I think it's wrong [gay marriage], but there are other things that I think are wrong that get decided by democratic vote. I see more harm, however, by dwelling so much on this subject of gays and lesbians and whether it's right or wrong in politics."


Oh, Rudy.
In one breath you tell the GOP to get out of people's bedrooms, and then you open the door and walk right in with your anti-marriage equality stance.
If the GOP really wants to win an election, then the GOP needs to realize that fear isn't a way to get votes.
Actions speak louder than words.
They ought to shut up and get to work doing all the things they promised last November that they haven't done a thing about since.


Dr. Jack Drescher, a psychiatrist who specializes in debunking "ex-gay" conversion:

"[Ex-gay theories are] o far outside the mainstream it's practically on Mars. We don't know what causes homosexuality, we don't know what causes heterosexuality, and since we don't what causes it, we don't know how to change it. There is no science that effectively states [reparative therapy] this can work, this can change."


I think that whatever causes homosexuality is the same thing that causes heterosexuality, though the mo's get all the fabulousness.

"We can look at other organizations who help people dealing with other life struggles. For instance, Weight Watchers... Should we go after Weight Watchers and tell them 'Don't say that there's anything beyond obesity' for people who are struggling with obesity and want an alternative to that?"

President Obama, on the debt ceiling stalemate:

We need more balls of steel from Obama. More calling out people like Cantor and Boehner and McConnell, who would rather see America crumble in order to win an election.

Marcus Bachmann, claiming that the audio tape in which he calls gays "barbarians" was doctored:

"I was talking in reference to children. Nothing, nothing to do with homosexuality. That's not my mindset. That's not my belief system. That's not the way I would talk. But then the unedited version of the tape came out and that is exactly what he said.

NOM president Brian Brown, whining about people who choose not to follow the law and give up their civil servant jobs:

Karger V Bachmann

Republican presidential candidate Fred Karger does not mince words.

This week he took on the Misses Bachmanns, Michele and Marcus, and the "counseling" clinic she owns and he runs that is ALLEGEDLY offering ex-gay therapy.

Karger: “She’s a liar and now that she’s been busted, she’s trying to divert attention away from her lies. She is just another hypocrite and bigot.”

What incited Karger’s harsh words was the revelation of an undercover video investigation by Truth Wins Out in which they sent in a reporter to act as though he was struggling with his sexuality and needed help to tame his homosexual urges.

TWO’s John Becker spent much of June masquerading as a client seeking a cure for his homosexuality. He received several counseling sessions at Bachmann’s clinic, all directed at helping him end his homosexuality and become the heterosexual he was born as, to paraphrase the counselor. 

The Bachmanns are saying nothing about the video and the investigation, In fact, all Crazy Eyed Hypocrite Michele Bachmann will say is that she's proud of the clinic because it creates jobs.

I guess she'd be proud of the factory that creates crosses to burn on peoples lawns, too. Or the seamstresses who create the white sheets for the KKK. Or the makers of Louisville Sluggers used to bash gay men.

It's all about jobs. I guess.

Michele Bachmann, 2004:

"I am not here bashing people who are homosexuals, who are lesbians, who are bisexual, who are transgendered. We need to have profound compassion for the people who are dealing with the very real issue of sexual dysfunction in their life, and sexual identity disorders. This is a very real issue. It’s not funny, it’s sad. Any of you who have members of your family that are in the lifestyle--we have a member of our family that is. This is not funny. It’s a very sad life. It’s part of Satan, I think, to say this is gay. It’s anything but gay. And so we are not here tonight--in fact, I wish this whole room was filled with the gay community--because we'd reach our hand out in love. The Love Won Out conference was here not too long ago in the Twin Cities, and it’s profoundly sad to recognize that almost all, if not all, individuals who have gone into the lifestyle have been abused at one time in their life, either by a male or by a female."

This is how gay bashing starts. Sticks and stones, you know; it's just words.

But in calling gay men and women a part of Satan, saying we are all unhappy, that we're sad, and  "saying almost all, if not all" gay people have been abused in our lives, which turned us gay, is how it starts.

Then, if you're a Michele Bachmann, you take that hatred, that bigotry, that intolerance, and you fund your husband's "business", which professes to use Christian therapies to make all those gays into straight men and women.

it sounds kind of innocuous, you know, and I imagine some gay folks who are so self-loathing and so brainwashed by religion and the narrow minds of their families, do turn to these sorts of groups, run by the likes of Marcus Bachmann, to rid themselves of their homosexuality. And then they believe they have been cured, and are now heterosexual, when in fact, all they are is even more self-loathing, more afraid, and less themselves.

It all starts with words.

And sometimes it ends in murder.Up in North Carolina, Peter Lucas Moses Jr. is accused of murdering Jadon Higganbothan, a 4-year-old boy. because of his beliefs and association with a radical religious sect. He is also accused of murdering Antoinetta Yvonne McKoy who tried to leave his sect, the Black Hebrews.

But it's the murder of little Jadon that is the most troubling, if one murder can be more troubling than another.

Jadon was murdered because Moses suspected he was gay.

It all seems to have started back in October 2010, prosecutors told the judge, one of the women in Moses' family told him that Jadon had hit another child's bottom. Moses retaliated because he thought the boy might be homosexual--because the child's father had left his mother.

Homosexuality is frowned upon by the Black Hebrews, so Moses asked Jadon's mother to get rid of him. He had two other women set up computers and speakers in the garage, and then he took Jadon into the garage, and while the speakers blared music and the Lord's Prayer, Moses shot Jadon in the head. The women cleaned up the mess, and put the boy's remains in a suitcase in the house until Moses complained of the smell. Investigators discovered the remains in June, months after beginning a missing person case.

Michele Bachmann says gay people are part of Satan and Peter Lucas Moses Jr. killed a child because he thought the boy was homosexual and his religion forbid that.

It starts with words. Michele Bachmann says gay people are 'of' Satan.

It, sometimes, ends in death. Peter Lucas Moses killed a boy in the name of God.

Ben Cohen, rugby player and straight LGBTQ ally, on New York's gay marriage law:

"It’s nice to be in love with someone, and of course you want to have that extra bond of being married and not perceived to be different. [The idea that] because you’re gay you can’t experience being married is wrong."

It's nice when someone associated with such a masculine sport as rugby, where one might think homophobia rampant, can stand up, and speak up, for the rights of the LGBT community.
And he was doing so long before it became the cool thing to do.

Presidential candidate Fred Karger, on President Obama's marriage stance:

"I am puzzled that a man who is the product of a biracial marriage, whose own parents could not have married in 16 states before 1967, seems unable to understand the extreme pain that bigotry causes... I have never heard of anyone switching sides from pro-gay marriage, as the president used to be, to anti-gay marriage."

While I don't agree with Karger on everything, he is right that Obama used to be for equality, and now he's a little, well, ambiguous.

Cory Monteith, of Glee, has joined the 'Straight But Not Narrow' campaign, an effort to encourage young heterosexual men to show support for their gay peers:

"So, maybe you like to play football, maybe you like to sing and dance, maybe you like both. Maybe you don't like either. Doesn't matter. Just be yourself. Just be you, because that's good enough for me. We're guys talking to guys about guys who like guys."

While the fight for equality is intrinsically a gay fight, it can't ever be won without the support of the heterosexual community, and I love the idea of people like Ben Cohen and Cory Monteith standing up, and speaking up, for gay men and women. and tolerance and understanding and equality.

Linda Harvey, fucktard head of the SPLC-certified hate group Mission America, on Obama and the "homosexual agenda":

Bishop Thomas Tobin, of the Providence Catholic Diocese, on the notion of Civil Unions becoming legal in Rhode Island--and they have:

When you want to talk about an immoral lifestyle--and rational people know that being gay is not a lifestyle, but a life--shouldn't you look around your church, first, and work hard, real hard, on casting out all those child-raping priests in your midst?
If you wanna talk immorality, and illegality, let's look at you and yours, aiding and abetting child molesters.
So, pray all you want, I think God is praying you'll do the right thing and actually start protecting children.

And, Pitt puts his money where his mouth is. he donated $100,000 of his own money to fight California's anti-gay Proposition 8.

Lady Gaga, on the accusation that she uses LGBT politics to sell records:

“To say that I would use the gay community to sell records is probably one of the most ridiculous statements anyone can make about me as a person... I would say the top thing I think about every single day of my life, other than my fans, loving the music, and my family being healthy, is social justice and equality.”

I would hope that she isn't using us, but when she does things like write "The Next Big Gay Anthem" in ten minutes, I wonder.
But then she did motivate many people in New York to call and write their senators about marriage equality.......
