KNITS!

I have been desperately intimidated at the thought of sewing knit fabric for a while, but kids clothes SCREAM for knits! I love this little outfit from McCalls (6152).


It reminds me of several play outfits LA had last fall and winter from Carters. The overall pattern looked simple enough, so I finally took the plunge!

The pattern is very easy and comes together pretty quickly. I didn't read a lot of the instructions, just referred to the pictures and basic understanding of garment construction. I made view B with just two modifications.

I added a stripped strip of trim to accent the neckline and used snaps instead of buttons as closures.

I learned a lot about working with knits with this top and now I want a serger more than ever!

(Can you believe this is a child who had major surgery just 5 days ago?)
