So..........What's Been Going On?

Let's see....

An earthquake in the DC area. I keep waiting for the Bachmann-Perry's to come out and say it had something to do with Obama.

A hurricane up the East Coast. And idiot weatherpeople told of big winds and rains in the Carolinas, making Carlos and I think we should cut our trip short, until we talked to our petsitter, and the Round-The-Way Gays, David and Neal, who told us it hadn't even rained in our little corner.

Rick Perry has seemingly taken over Michelle Bachmann's place in the Loony Pool. I wonder who will take his spot as more and more folks realize he's effin' nuts?

Well, at least not the people of South Carolina, who are rabidly behind Perry. Welcome home, Bob!!

Kim Kardsashian got married and sold the rights to anyone with a checkbook. How much time is left on her fifteen minutes?

Mitt Romny thinks corporations are people, too, except they don't pay no stinking taxes. And then Mitt, who likes to paint himself as aware of how hard life is these days for the American people, buys a $10 million house so he can tear it down and build a bigger house. Out of touch much? Now, to be fair, it's his money, and he has a lot of it, and if he wants to buy a perfectly good home and raze it, that's his prerogative. But don't tell me you feel my pain....because you don't.

Lady Gaga dressed as a man last night on TV. I'm waiting for the day when  she comes out in regular clothes and just sings. That would be shocking.

Michelle Bachmann says God sent the hurricane to get the attention of politicians. oh, not her, mind you, because God wants her in the White House. or the Nut House. Some kinda house.

Dick Cheney says "heads will explode" when his book comes out. Seems to me, Cheney has made quite a lot of money off exploding people's heads....figuratively and literally.

Nice to know that not much has changed.
Sigh.

Ladies and Gentle-Ladies, Your GOP Anti-Gay Presidential Candidates:

I can't help myself, because this sums up the GOP perfectly.
The GOP presidential candidates echoed and re-echoed their anti-gay marriage sentiments loud and clear in Iowa last week. And even though nearly every single poll out there shows that the majority of Americans  support marriage equality. Only former Utah Governor Jon Huntsman distinguished himself for his support of civil unions--which is still not good enough.

MITT ROMNEY: Marriage is a status. It’s not an activity that goes on within the walls of a state and as a result, our marriage status relationship should be constant across the country. I believe we should have a federal amendment to the Constitution that defines marriage as a relationship between a man and a woman.
JON HUNTSMAN: I also believe in civil unions, because I believe this nation can do a better job when it comes to equality and I believe we can do a better job when it comes to reciprocal beneficiary rights rights.
RON PAUL: I think marriages should be between a single man and a single woman and that the federal government shouldn’t be involved.
RICK SANTORUM: It sounds to me like Rep. Paul would say that polygamous marriages are okay.
MICHELE BACHMANN: I support the federal marriage amendment…and as president I would not nominate activist judges who would legislate from the bench.

Poor Mitt.....I Think We Need A Telethon

Failing that, does anyone have a teeny-weeny-itty-bitty-tiny violin to play for the poor man? Why? You ask. Well, it seems that Mitt Romney is unemployed, like so many other Americans and we should feel sorry for him.

Romney, aptly labeled "out of touch" by the Democratic National Committee, for the remarks he made in Florida this week, is now back-pedaling and shifting focus, and playing with smoke and mirrors so we don't look at the man behind the curtain.

See, Mitt was down in Florida, talking to, and ALLEGEDLY listening to, small business owners in that state, when the crowd began telling their tales of how hard it is to find work in this economy. So, um, what did Mitt do? Did he offer up a comprehensive plan on how to get America, and Americans, back to work? Did he propose a new, brilliant strategy for fixing the deficit?

No, Mitt Romney, multi-millionaire presidential candidate, said that maybe he should speak: “I should tell my story, I’m also unemployed.”

The DNC emailed bombed his campaign headquarters, and the Romeny Camp went into spin overdrive, saying the crowd laughed at Shecky, er, Mitt, and that he was just being self-deprecating.

Which is easy to do when you're worth millions.
