Not My Finest Crafting Moment...

So my husband comes home this week with a "project." His work decided to have a stocking contest with prizes (all my husband had to hear was "prizes" and he was in).

"Honey, we need to decorate this stocking for a contest--by Friday."

Well, we all know that "WE" means ME.

Sigh...I don't have time to finish all of my to-do's already and now we need this by FRIDAY??? But being a good wifey, I bravely took the stocking and asked for the guidelines. Like a typical guy (love ya' hon) he had ZERO details about the contest. Was it supposed to be tacky? Cute? Something you would actually be proud to hang?

NO DETAILS.

So...we went with tacky :)

And for me, when I think of tacky Christmas, the infamous leg lamp comes to mind. You know the one (although I was shocked to find out that my husband has never seen the movie...seriously?! It only comes on for like 24 hours straight during this time of year...but I digress).

I failed to take a before picture, but the stocking he was given was one of those super cheap felt ones you can get for like, a buck...at most. In other words, not much to work with here people! A little nip here, a little add-on there (UGA fabric for my husband and don't forget the faux fishnets) and I transformed a basic stocking into this lovely creation.

Like I said...not my finest crafting moment, but hopefully it will get a laugh or two at his work (and maybe even a prize)!
