Christmas Jammies

This has been a *&%^ of a project. Seriously. Pajamas are EASY, but these gave me fits. Technically, only LA's top gave me fits. You see, I started with a pattern (first mistake eh?) and trusted it to be sortof accurate on measurements (second mistake) and started sewing late at night so therefor the patience level might not have been its best (third mistake).

Bad idea.

For apparently, a size 1 in this patter was really as wide as a size 4 in ready to wear. Yep, I compared it to the shirt that I bought for my nephew and it was the same width. Ummm...that was not going to work, so I went with plan B.

I took a tshirt I bought LA and made my own top for the jammies. I cut it just under the arms, and added a piece of gathered fabric, some rick rack a couple of buttons. I think the end result ended up pretty cute. The pants are both drafted off of pants that fit my nephew and Lily Anne.

I think the two of them will look pretty darn cute in their matching jammies! Of course, Lily Anne needs a Snugglebutton for her feeding tube to match her jammies. I mean, a girl has to be accessorized!
Legal disclaimer: These jammies were made from material that has printed along the side "Not Intended for Children's Sleepwear" and the original top was made from a pattern that, while found in the "Sleepwear" section of the pattern catalog is "not intended for sleepwear." Yep, I'm a rebel. Just award me "Mom and Aunt of the Year!"
